On to Mallaig

This was travel day yet again and I was off to Mallaig.  It turned into a beautiful day and as there was the promise of sun on my castle this morning while the tide was in I made yet another visit.  Patience paid off and after an hour and a half waiting for the sun it finally sent its beam down upon Castle Tioram while there was still a lot of water surrounding it. Patience paid off and revisiting the site three times allowed me to capture some different views of this magnificent medieval structure.  Imagine! It has stood there for over 700 years!

The drive up to Mallaig was very pleasant as the road was, at last, two way and not a single track road like what I have been following for the past 2 weeks! As this is the Road to the Isles and Mallaig is an end point for the “Harry Potter” train as well as a major port for not only the ferry but the charter boats as well.  It’s a lovely little town and the views are magnificent. My B&B is a bit out of town and up a very steep hill but the view is stunning!  Tomorrow it is off to Skye for the day, early ferry to Armadale.
