After spending 4 days photographing at the film festival I was more than ready to get back to the docks! Today’s journey to the north end of the island to do more photographing at Viking Village was briefly interrupted to save two turtles. This time of year they are coming out of the marshes and crossing the road to lay their eggs. Thankfully we have a turtle sanctuary and I took the two turtle ladies there where they can lay their eggs in safety and the hatchlings will have an excellent start in life. Then on to the docks where it was a fairly quiet morning. I was able to get some rather abstract photos on the Lucky Thirteen and one of a crewman down in the fish hold. It was interesting to see how they compartmentalize the fish. The boat was going to be heading out next week to fish off Georgia.
