Back to photographing at the Surflight Theater in Beach Haven, NJ.  The show is “Something Rotten” and the setting is 1595 in South London. The Bottom brothers are desperate to write a hit play but are plagued by the rockstar of the times, Will Shakespeare – The Bard.  A local soothsayer foretells that the future of theater involves singing and dancing and acting at the same time so the brothers set out to write the first musical.  This is one of the funniest shows that I have photographed – you have to really have your wits about you because the site gags and rapid one-liners will keep you on your toes. Photographing dress rehearsals really gives me an insight into the hard work and dedication necessary for these actors to put on the show. Dancers must learn the choreography as well as the songs and lyrics. Hats off to these wonderful dancers and actors for always putting their best foot forward. And hats off to the crew behind the scenes building the sets and designing the costumes.
