Early this morning I received a text to let me know that one of the fishing boats, the Eaglet II,was coming with a catch of tilefish. I hadn’t seen the tilefish catches yet and hadn’t photographed this particular boat so I quickly got dressed and headed up to the north end of the island. The Eaglet II is a 63 foot steel longline boat built in Rhode Island in 1973. I was able to take some pictures of the boat coming through the Barnegat inlet and then headed to the dock to get the unloading. The boat was carrying roughly 7500 pounds of tilefish. It was a beautiful morning but rain or storms were forecast for the afternoon. Once again I tried to get the photos that depicted the activity as well as the abstract and close-up shots that will enhance the overall project. I spent almost 4 hours at the docks before heading home.
