Bittersweet departure

It was a bittersweet day as I headed back to Edinburgh on my last leg of the trip.  After an overnight in a lovely bed and breakfast in Inverarry I drove through a spectacular landscape in Glen Coe and then the Trossachs.  The snow covering the tips of the mountains was stunning and the topography, though stark, was beautiful and haunting. Glen Coe is a stunning glen of glacial origins, that cuts though volcanic rocks in the Highlands of Scotland. It lies in the north of the county of Argyll, close to the border with the historic province of Lochaber, an area associated with the Lords of the Isles. More information I also made a quick stop at Doune Castle where Outlander, Monty Python and Game of Thrones were filmed.
